Encoder/Decoder

Wombat offers a number of utilities for creating and querying playback files captured from direct exchange feeds.

It is useful for customers to be able to quickly validate potentially suspicious data published by the feed handler. This may be as part of the customer's internal Quality Assurance procedures, or in response to a question from an end user. Wombat already has the facility to capture raw data to "playback files". Playback files are useful in that they can be used to replay an entire day's worth of data or to allow a trained eye to pick through raw messages to see how they were translated. However, there is currently no convenient way to process subsets of a playback file, nor to easily understand the contents of the individual messages contained therein. Wombat now provides a new set of utilities designed to provide a more flexible way to inspect contents of the playback files (the "Decoder"), as well as to construct sample playback files, given a text based input file (the "Encoder").
