Cascading Cache
The Wombat Cascading Cache allows market data to be distributed to an
independent market data infrastructure, such as to a subsidiary, to a remote
office, to a test/development network, or to separate sub-infrastructure(s)
for distribution of delayed and/or conflated data.
Essentially, the Cascading Cache is very similar to a feed handler (and is
largely composed of the same PAPA components that a feed handler uses). On
the one hand, it provides exactly the same caching and distribution
functionality as a feed handler. On the other hand, it is a MAMA subscriber
to the Market Data Backbone (or, conceivably, another Cascading Cache).
Note: The Cascading Cache is actually a special case of the "Migration Utilities", which provide ridges to and from the Wombat system
and legacy systems.
